Steps to a Successful Campaign

Step 1.
Set up your fundraising page on the official Run Unite Relay Fundraising Site. If you have any questions or problems setting up your site please contact us and we will take you step by step through the process.

Step 2.

Customize your fundraising emails/letters. Download your pre-written solicitation letters.

Step 3.

Share your fundraising letters/text campaign to all your club members to be sure they are reaching out to their family and friends and bringing awareness to your campaign.

Step 4.

Tips for a successful campaign
1. Make sure your entire club is on board and ready to compete, contribute, celebrate. Once you have the team page set up your entire club can go to your custom page and JOIN THE TEAM.

2. Begin planning your campaign, and collecting addresses, as soon as you reserve your team slot.

3. Have everyone in your organization gather the contact information of their family, friends, and neighbors—anyone they can think of!

4. Set a goal for the amount of letters that everyone in the club will send out.
Increase the impact of a donation by encouraging the recipient to have their donation matched by their company.

5. Thank everyone who sends a gift—this is the most important part of any fundraising campaign!

Step 5.

Start Fundraising!
Here are some great ways to fundraise;

1. Text your custom website page to family and friends.

2. Email - the quickest and easiest form of solicitation. But remember you may not get a response to the first email you send so be sure to send out at least 3 emails to each contact. Download your pre-written solicitation email.

3. Send your letter by snail mail or hand deliver your request for a more personal touch.

4. Corporate and small business donors - reach out to your local area businesses as well as inviting your personal donors to encourage their companies to make a donation.

5. Other University Chapters - Does your club/organization have a sister/brother chapter at another University? Reach out to them and ask them to support your efforts.

Donor Appreciation Guide
